Rayna Wortham s our Community Service Officer, and came to us from the Sheriff's Office, where she was a Communications Officer. She is primarily responsible for enforcement of those laws and ordinances pertaining to animals within the City. This includes the impounding of animals found to be wandering at large, or without proof of rabies vaccinations. Other duties include investigation into complaints of nuisance properties, and assisting police officers with certain other functions such as traffic control parking enforcement and vacation house checks. Impounded animals are taken to the Park County Humane Society Shelter located at 5537 Greybull Highway, Cody, and may be redeemed during their regular hours of operation. You may contact them at 587-5110. Animal licenses are not required by the City of Cody, but dogs and cats must be vaccinated against rabies and carry proof of that vaccination. There is both a leash law and a "pooper scooper" ordinance in Cody. |
