The Cody PD

The City of Cody is located in the northwest portion of the State of Wyoming. It is the "Gateway to Yellowstone National Park". Founded in 1896 by William F. (Buffalo Bill) Cody, our community maintains a rich western heritage surrounded by natural beauty.

The City of Cody, which is the county seat of Park County, has a population of 8700, (1990 census). That population increases dramatically during the busy summer tourist season.

The Police Department currently has 21 full time employees. This includes 19 sworn officers, 1 secretary and a Community Service Officer. The department has three divisions, including Administrative/Records, Patrol and Investigations. We currently share building space with the Park County Sheriff's Office and Jail facility.
