- What is a Citizen's Police Academy?
-
- The Citizens Police Academy is designed to enhance our partnership with the community by
introducing participants to their local criminal justice system. It is an opportunity to meet
police officers, and other agency members who protect and serve our community. The intent
is not to train citizens to become police officers. Rather, it is an opportunity to see first
hand what duties and responsibilities law enforcement personnel have.
-
- Learn about Community Oriented Policing, criminal investigation, traffic and DWUI enforcement,
crime prevention and drug enforcement from police, and see what crime issues are of concern in
Cody.
-
- Goals of the Citizens Police Academy.
-
- Our goal in providing this class is to enhance the relationship between the Cody Police Department
and the community, resulting in a better understanding of what we do, and why we do it. In exchange, we
will learn from you what you expect from your Police Department, and how we can provide better
service in dealing with the issues you feel are important to you.
-
